Abstract
Systemic Therapy is an approach to psychotherapy case conceptualization and intervention focused on how presenting problems are connected to relationship dynamics and group interactions. The approach highlights nested levels of social dynamics, feedback loops, triangulation, and alliances in family systems. The presentation will provide an overview of systemic therapy, and discuss key ways in which systemic therapy can be useful in working with a network of polyamorous relationships, or polycules. Discussion of cases and various workshop activities on applying systemic therapy principles will be a central part of the webinar.
Following an introductory didactic section, approximately 2/3 of the workshop will focus on case conference and discussion.
Learning Objectives:
Describe three relevant principles of Systemic Therapy
Apply tools used by Systemic Therapy and other relevant modalities to polyamorous and consensual non-monogamy (CNM) systems of relationships
